Quilted Laptop Cover

I am so excited to have finally made my trusty Mac laptop a cover.  I was determined not to go out and buy a cover and make my own.  It only took most of this year to get to it.  Of course it took no time to make once I started.  I made the pattern up as I went.

I made it out of a honey bun from Sweetwater’s Make Life fabric range.  Oh, I do love me some pre-cuts.  The grey and white spotted lining fabric I purchase at Spotlight.  I’m really happy with how it has sewn up and hope I can avoid scratching my laptop any further.  The cover also acts as a mat to sit under my laptop too.

Your cover is beautiful! I’m inspired. I have a laptop and an iPad. Wonder how long it would take me to hand-sew covers for them…

    • Jacinta

I’m glad to have inspired you! I started sewing it on Friday and finished it on Monday. I worked on it on and off when I had a few minutes to spare. If you had no interruptions, it could be finished in a few hours I’d think. I find the thing that takes the longest is hand sewing the binding. If you do sew something, let me know, I love seeing what others make. Jacinta x

What a great little cover Jacinta. I don’t have a laptop, just this monster PC in the office, but I’m seriously considering a knitting needle roll. I think I’ll ‘steal’ your strip idea. Lovely fabrics, so bright and cheery. Nice to see you making some time to sew things for yourself, especially with all the household renovations that you’ve had going on throughout this year. Cheers.

It looks so happy and cheerful. I might even attempt one myself when my brother finally fixes my laptop LOL

I hope you get your laptop fixed soon! I am grateful Greg is a computer whizz. Jacinta

Oh this is so cheerful… every worker deserves to have comfy pyjamas! I think that maybe I will have to make my old workhorse something lovely, too! Well done!
